Copyright notice
How to file a DMCA-style notice
Include the elements below so we can act. Incomplete notices may delay review.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed
- Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, and information reasonably sufficient to locate it on SoroNow (URL, file name, account if known)
- Your contact information (email required; phone optional)
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
- A statement that the information is accurate, and under penalty of perjury that you are the owner or authorized to act
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full legal name is acceptable for email notices)

Counter-notice
If your content was removed
If you believe material was disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notification.
Misrepresenting a counter-notice can have legal consequences. Only send one if you believe in good faith the removal was a mistake.

Who is the designated DMCA agent?

What happens after I send a notice?
We review complete notices and may remove or disable access to the material. We may notify the uploader. Incomplete notices may be returned for more detail.
What if my content was removed by mistake?
You may send a counter-notification with the required statements. After review, we may restore the material unless the complainant seeks a court order, where applicable.
Is Report abuse the same as a DMCA notice?
No. Report abuse is for general policy or safety issues with uploads. A DMCA notice is a formal copyright claim and should use the copyright notice template.
Can I report a file from My Files?
Yes. In My Files, open a file’s actions menu and choose Report abuse, or use the Report abuse button on this page.
